Busan, South Korea – The dynamic city of Busan is set to host the 28th edition of its renowned Sea Festival from July 26 to 28, 2024. This annual event, a highlight of the summer season, will take place at Dadaepo Beach, celebrated for its stunning sunsets and beautiful coastline.

The festival kicks off on July 26 with a grand opening ceremony featuring the dazzling "Dadaepo Fireworks Show" and the lively "Night Pool Party." The fireworks display, set against the backdrop of a golden sunset, promises a breathtaking spectacle, while the pool party will keep attendees energized with performances by prominent hip-hop artists such as Swings, Han Yo-han, Be'O, and Paul Blanco. These events are designed to encapsulate the energy and vibrancy of Busan's summer nights.

Throughout the three-day event, a diverse array of activities awaits visitors. The festival will feature interactive programs, including the "Busan Citizens' Participation Program," where locals and tourists alike can engage in various activities themed around "Busan, Summer, and Sea."

  • Healing Program for People with Disabilities (July 26): This initiative aims to provide a relaxing and inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities, allowing them to enjoy the festivities fully.
  • Open Sea Open Concert (July 27): A musical extravaganza designed to resonate with audiences of all ages, featuring performances that span various genres.
  • Dadaepo Folk Rock Festival (July 28): Set against the picturesque backdrop of Dadaepo's sunset, this festival will offer a blend of folk and rock music, providing a serene yet vibrant end to the festival.

For fitness enthusiasts, the festival offers wellness activities such as "Sunset Yoga" and "Sunset Surfing." Pet owners can enjoy the unique "Sunset Surfing with Pets" program, ensuring that even furry friends can join in on the fun. Additionally, children will be entertained with the "Water Stage" DJ fountain party and the "Hidden Stage" camp picnic at Dadaepo Dream Sunset Fountain Park. These activities ensure that there is something for everyone, making the festival a family-friendly event.

Safety is a top priority for the organizers. To manage the large crowds, the beach will operate under a capacity limit of 32,000 visitors. Specific traffic control measures will be implemented around Dadaepo Beach, including lane and parking restrictions starting from the afternoon of July 26. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation to minimize congestion and ensure a smooth festival experience. These measures are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon expressed his excitement for the festival, emphasizing its role in showcasing the charm of Dadaepo Beach and inviting both locals and international visitors to participate in the festivities. "This year's Busan Sea Festival will highlight the unique beauty of Dadaepo Beach, offering a variety of programs that reflect the area's vibrant culture and natural beauty. We look forward to welcoming everyone to this spectacular event and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all," he said.
