Breeze in Busan | Drone Show Korea 2024

Busan, South Korea – The skies above Busan are set to be transformed as DSK 2025 (Drone Show Korea), Asia’s largest drone and aerospace exhibition, prepares for its highly anticipated return. Marking its 10th anniversary, the event will be held from February 26 to 28, 2025, at BEXCO, drawing an unprecedented 306 companies from 15 countries in a showcase of cutting-edge drone technology, AI-driven aviation, and urban air mobility.

This year’s event signifies a turning point for the industry. With its new branding as DSK 2025, the exhibition is expanding beyond drones to encompass artificial intelligence, smart transportation, net-zero aviation, and aerospace innovations, underscoring Busan’s growing role in the global technology race. The rebranding reflects not only the scale of the exhibition but also the growing importance of unmanned aerial systems across multiple sectors, including logistics, security, entertainment, and infrastructure. As the industry pivots toward AI-powered drone operations, autonomous urban air mobility (UAM), and sustainable aviation, the event serves as a crucial platform for international dialogue, technological advancements, and business collaborations.

Organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, the Korea Aerospace Agency, and the City of Busan, DSK 2025 is expected to be the largest edition yet, covering an exhibition space of 26,508 square meters and featuring over 1,130 booths. The presence of key global stakeholders, including policymakers, corporate leaders, researchers, and technology developers, further cements its status as a premier international gathering shaping the future of aerial mobility.

Beyond the exhibition, a high-profile conference will bring together 44 leading experts from nine countries, covering the latest developments in drone regulations, AI integration, defense applications, and aerospace innovations. Among the distinguished speakers, Clinton Heimann, Deputy Director General of South Africa’s Department of Agriculture, will discuss regulatory advancements in the drone industry, while Dr. Lee Bo-hyung, senior advisor at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, will explore the fusion of artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial systems. Discussions will also address the growing role of drones in smart cities, precision agriculture, emergency response, and space exploration. Representatives from the World Bank, NASA affiliates, and leading drone manufacturerswill present insights into the commercialization of drone technology and the regulatory frameworks shaping the future of aerial innovation.

As the exhibition continues to expand, so too does its international influence. With more than 66 foreign companies from the United States, Germany, Israel, Japan, and other nations showcasing their latest innovations, DSK 2025 is a testament to the global nature of the industry. South Korean firms, many of which have established themselves as pioneers in drone technology, will leverage the event to forge strategic partnerships and secure foreign investment, positioning the country as a leader in the global drone and aerospace market.

While the event is a crucial meeting point for industry professionals, it also offers a dynamic experience for the general public. A series of interactive showcases, competitions, and live demonstrations will highlight the capabilities of modern drones. One of the most anticipated attractions is a spectacular drone light show, featuring 600 synchronized drones illuminating the night sky over BEXCO on February 26 at 7:00 PM. Themed “Connecting the Future Through Innovation,” the display will symbolize the rapid advancements in aerial technology and its expanding role in shaping future cities. Visitors will also have the opportunity to witness high-speed drone races, AI-powered e-drone competitions, and hands-on demonstrations of next-generation drone applications.

As South Korea continues to establish itself as a global leader in urban air mobility and aerospace technology, Busan is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation. The city’s investments in UAM, drone-powered logistics, and AI-driven aviation systems align with broader national efforts to redefine the future of aerial transportation. The mayor of Busan, Park Heong-joon, emphasized the city’s ambitions, stating, “With DSK 2025, Busan is taking a major leap forward in aerospace innovation. Over the next decade, we aim to transform Busan into a leading global city for drones, AI, and future mobility.”

The event will be open to industry professionals, investors, technology enthusiasts, and the general public, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the latest advancements in drone and aerospace technology. Registration is now available through the official website www.droneshowkorea.com.

With drones rapidly evolving from niche gadgets to essential components of smart cities, security, and logistics, DSK 2025 is poised to be a defining event in shaping the future of the industry. As the world’s top drone and mobility leaders gather in Busan, the event will provide a crucial glimpse into how aerial technology is transforming industries and everyday life on a global scale.
