Busan, South Korea– Busan is set to host the 25th annual Debian Developer Conference, DebConf24, from July 21 to August 4, 2024. This event will take place at Pukyong National University and is expected to attract over 1,000 participants from around the world. The conference will feature a comprehensive program including development workshops, technical sessions, and a job fair aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation within the open-source software community.

The DebConf24 conference, organized by The Debian Project and supported by local institutions like Pukyong National University and the Busan Metropolitan Government, underscores Busan’s growing reputation as a hub for technological innovation. This year’s event is particularly significant as it marks a quarter-century of Debian conferences, which have played a pivotal role in advancing the Debian operating system and its derivatives, such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint​.

The conference will begin with DebCamp, a week-long period from July 21-27 dedicated to focused development and collaboration among developers. This will be followed by the main conference, DebConf, from July 28 to August 4.
