Busan Gears Up for Dazzling Fireworks Display in Support of 2030 World Expo Bid

Busan, South Korea - In an effort to secure the hosting rights for the 2030 World Expo, the city of Busan is preparing a spectacular fireworks show on April 6, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gwangalli Beach. The "2030 Busan World Expo Bid Fireworks Show" is a grand event aimed at showcasing Busan's strong commitment to hosting the Expo and setting it apart from competing cities.

Organized to coincide with the Bureau International de l'Exposition's (BIE) due diligence schedule, the fireworks display seeks to highlight Busan's expertise in organizing large-scale events and to generate public interest and support. The event is anticipated to draw significant crowds, further amplifying its promotional impact.

In contrast to the previous 'Busan Fireworks Festival,' which took place at three separate locations, the '2030 Busan World Expo Fireworks Show' will be held exclusively at Gwangalli Beach. The show will feature video narration through music and drawing videos, a massive fireworks grand finale exclusive to Busan, a large-scale lettered fireworks performance spelling "2030 Expo Busan," and a multimedia fireworks display combining Gwangan Bridge lights, fireworks, and multimedia systems.

The event will include a pre-show Fireworks Talk Show, Celebration Performance, Countdown to Kindergarten, and the main Fireworks Show for Busan World Expo 2030. The Fireworks Talk Show, marking the beginning of the festival, will introduce stories related to the Expo and build consensus for the bid through publicity and civic engagement using a radio format.

Adding to the pre-show atmosphere, the Celebration Performance by the band 'KARDI,' an ambassador of the Busan World Expo, will energize the venue before the fireworks show. The Countdown to the Bid will showcase Busan's unity and aspiration to host the Expo, reflecting South Korea's position as the final 2030 host city alongside previous Expo venues.

The main event, a 30-minute Fireworks Show themed "K-Wave," will express the passionate aspirations of Korea and Busan, known for their powerful waves. Starting with the representative Niagara firework, the display will create a universal attraction consensus with the production and narration of large fireworks unique to Busan, capturing the charm of the city for the due diligence team.

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon emphasized the city's readiness to host world-class international events and called for citizens' interest and participation in the fireworks show. He highlighted the united efforts of Busan, the government, and businesses as "One Team Korea," committed to securing the 2030 World Expo hosting vote in November.
