Talk Talk Korea 2025 Opens for Global Creators
Breeze in Busan | Global Content Creators Invited to Participate in Talk Talk Korea 2025

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) of South Korea has officially announced the commencement of the Talk Talk Korea 2025 international content competition, set to run from June 2 to August 5, 2025. This marks the 12th edition of the competition, which has grown into a significant event aimed at inviting creators from around the world to present their interpretations of Korean culture.

For the 2025 competition, a special category has been introduced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation from Japanese rule. This category focuses on the historical importance of Korea’s independence, inviting participants to create works that reflect themes of freedom and peace, as well as the significance of Korea’s cultural resilience. The addition of this category underscores the event’s focus on cultural history and the global impact of Korea’s liberation.

Participants are invited to submit their works across five key categories: promotion videos, art and craft, photobooks, memes and trends, and the special category for the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation. These categories offer creators a range of formats to express their perspectives on Korean culture, from cinematic videos and traditional artworks to short-form videos capturing contemporary trends.

The competition is open to individuals from all over the world, providing a platform for people with an interest in Korean culture to engage in the event. Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, and the relevance to Korean cultural heritage. By providing a space for diverse creative expressions, the competition seeks to foster international cultural exchange and offer global exposure to the works of participants.

Winners of the competition will receive a range of rewards. First-place winners in each category will be awarded an 8-day, 9-night trip to Korea, which includes an opportunity to participate in various cultural experiences. In addition, winners in the special category will receive $2,000 worth of digital products. The overall best entry, selected from all categories, will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award, recognizing exceptional cultural expression.

To promote the competition, the popular K-pop group EPEX has been selected as official ambassadors. Their involvement aims to broaden the competition's reach, particularly among international fans of Korean music and culture. EPEX will participate in promotional materials and help raise awareness about the competition, encouraging global participation.

Since its inception, Talk Talk Korea has become a prominent platform for the global exchange of creative works related to Korean culture. Previous editions have seen entries from over 140 countries, reflecting the widespread international interest in Korean culture. This year’s competition, with the addition of the special category, further emphasizes the event's role in facilitating cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.

The inclusion of the special category, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation, highlights the historical significance of this year’s event. By encouraging participants to reflect on the themes of freedom and peace, the competition offers a meaningful opportunity for creators to explore Korea’s cultural history and its global implications. The event also serves as a reminder of the ongoing relevance of these values in today’s world.

As the competition progresses, participants are invited to submit their entries via the official website, www.talktalkkorea.or.kr, before the deadline of August 5, 2025. The competition continues to serve as a platform for promoting Korean culture, facilitating global participation, and encouraging the exchange of creative ideas.
