Discovering the Film Location of 'Reborn Rich': The Former Busan Mayor's residence in South Korea

The former official residence of the Busan Mayor in Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea, is undergoing a transformation into a "complex cultural space" for the citizens of Busan. The former residence, which boasts a site area of 18,015 square meters, is renowned for being the largest of its kind among local government offices across the nation. Completed in 1985, it was once known as the "local Blue House.

The full opening of the former Busan Mayor's residence was a campaign promise made by Mayor Park Hyung-joon, and the outdoor space is now open for public use as a park or promenade. The building was also the setting for the popular K-drama "Rich Reborn" and has since gained national attention. As a result, the number of visitors to the site has dramatically increased over the past two months, with over 8,000 tourists visiting the former Busan Mayor's Office.

The former residence has been open since 2004 and has been used as a filming location for several productions, including "Reborn Rich." With its colorful exterior and prime location, it has become a popular tourist attraction, attracting film and television producers as well as visitors. The building is located at 60, Hwangnyeongsan-ro 7beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan. With excellent access to public transportation, the building is a must-visit for those exploring the city.

The transformation of the former Busan Mayor's residence into a public cultural space serves as an inspiring example for other local governments and is a testament to Busan's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage. With its rich history and natural beauty, the former Busan Mayor's Office is a prime destination for tourists visiting the city.

Busan's Yeollin(Open) Event Hall  (the former Busan Mayor's residence) Operating Hours and Guidelines

The Busan Open Event Center (Busan Mayor's Office) is open to the public with specific operating hours that vary based on the season. During the winter season (November through May), the center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, while the summer season (June ~ October) has extended hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is important to note that the center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays for facility maintenance.

Visitors who wish to visit the center on weekends are advised to check the operating hours in advance as the light blue gate may be closed on weekends and holidays. While visiting the center on weekends may be more convenient, it is recommended to plan a visit during weekdays to ensure accessibility.

All spaces other than the interior of the former Busan Mayor's Office are open and accessible to the public for free. However, visitors are advised to refrain from using tents and mats in the open spaces.

Dogs are allowed to visit the center, provided they are on a leash and with poop bags at all times. This will ensure a clean and enjoyable experience for all visitors to the center.
