Seobusan Smart Valley Brings Safety and Efficiency to Saha District

Busan, South Korea – Seobusan Smart Valley, formerly the Sinpyeong-Jangnim Industrial Complex in Busan’s Saha District, has been awarded 9 billion KRW in funding to implement a comprehensive smart infrastructure system. This significant national and local investment aims to digitally modernize the industrial zone by 2026, aligning with Busan’s broader industrial revitalization efforts.

Seobusan Smart Valley, selected as a beneficiary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy’s digital upgrade initiative, will receive 6 billion KRW in national funds. The project targets safety, environmental hazards, and traffic issues through advanced technologies, including AI-enabled CCTV, smart poles, and a digitally controlled integrated management center. With over 200 vulnerable locations identified within the district, these enhancements are expected to reduce risks by approximately 10%.

Seobusan Smart Valley’s transformation aligns with Saha District’s broader redevelopment efforts, aiming to create a modern industrial hub with improved living conditions, sustainable infrastructure, and enhanced economic opportunities. Through these initiatives, the district envisions a vibrant community for local workers and businesses, fostering a safer, technologically advanced environment conducive to long-term growth.

This new infrastructure is expected to boost the safety and environmental standards of the region significantly. By addressing industrial challenges with a digital management system, Saha District is setting a precedent for other regions and attracting potential future investments. Additionally, the project is anticipated to create a more favorable environment for local businesses, helping attract skilled workers and improve quality of life for existing employees.

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon emphasized that this project will enhance Seobusan Smart Valley's competitiveness by allowing real-time responses to safety and environmental concerns. “Our goal is to modernize infrastructure and improve working conditions for residents and employees alike,” he stated. “Investing in smart technology is essential for creating a sustainable industrial future.”

Scheduled for completion in 2026, this transformation highlights Busan’s commitment to industrial modernization and positions Saha District as a potential model for integrating smart infrastructure into traditional industrial complexes.
