Busan City is taking a bold step forward in the tourist industry with the launch of its new “Visit Busan Pass”. Aimed at individual foreign tourists, this innovative new card offers free admission to thirty popular tourist attractions in the city, as well as a rechargeable transportation card function.
The Visit Busan Pass is available in two options: a 24-hour pass for 49,000 won and a 48-hour pass for 69,000 won. With these passes, tourists can enjoy up to 70% off the total admission price by visiting five different attractions and using the city tour bus. This means that tourists can now solve both their transportation and sightseeing needs with a single card.
The list of tourist facilities that accept the Visit Busan Pass is extensive and includes popular attractions like Exceed Sky Observatory, Blue Line Park Beach Train, Lotte World Adventure, Skyline Luge, and the City Tour Bus. In addition, tourists who use the card can take advantage of discounts at 77 different discount merchants.
Sales of the Visit Busan Pass will be conducted both online and offline, with the card being available for purchase at the Busan Busan Pass Promotion Center, tourist information centers, and ten different convention hotels. Tourists can also purchase the card in advance through online travel agencies or the Visit Busan Pass website, and then pick it up upon arrival in Busan.
The Visit Busan Pass website offers more information on how to use the card, merchant information, and more, in four different languages (English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Traditional). A Visit Busan Pass mobile app is also scheduled for release in February.
Busan City plans to officially launch the Visit Busan Pass in August after collecting feedback from both tourists and merchants during the six-month pilot program. By integrating and promoting tourist destinations and nearby restaurants, Busan City hopes to raise the status of its city as a top international tourist destination.
An official from Busan City stated that the city hopes to increase the satisfaction of foreign tourists visiting Busan, as the global tourism market begins to recover. The launch of the Visit Busan Pass is a clear sign that Busan is a city that is eager to embrace the future and provide tourists with the best possible experience.
