The city of Busan, in partnership with Musinsa, a leader in the fashion industry, has announced a special event titled “HIP BUSAN with Musinsa” to mark this year’s Family Month and Parents’ Day. The initiative seeks to honor the city’s senior citizens by offering them a unique opportunity to star in a Musinsa photoshoot, capturing the essence of “today’s youth” with their families. From March 25th to April 3rd, Busan residents are encouraged to share inspiring stories involving seniors who have a meaningful connection to the city.

Musinsa, acclaimed for reflecting the latest fashion trends, collaborates with Busan to highlight the importance of community engagement through content. Five individuals over the age of 60 will be selected to participate in the photoshoot and will also be awarded dining vouchers for a “2024 Michelin-selected restaurant,” promising a memorable day filled with celebration and culinary delights.

The photoshoot, themed around “Youth,” aims to redefine aging by portraying the lively spirit of the participants against the backdrop of Busan’s rich scenery. This approach is meant to celebrate the vibrant culture of Busan and its senior residents’ dynamic lives. The resulting stories will be shared in a sequence of editorial content, beginning May 8th, via the city’s official social media channels and the Busan Municipal Newsletter.

Submitting a story is easy, with entries accepted through a link on the city’s official social media. Submissions are open to everyone, allowing nominations of someone special by friends, family, or acquaintances. The stories can encompass a range of experiences, from personal growth in Busan to cherished family memories, all underscoring the connection to the city.

The city expresses its hope that this event will not only celebrate the beauty and diversity of Busan and its elderly population but also encourage all participants to reflect on their own “youth of today.” This initiative is part of Busan’s ongoing effort to enhance community engagement, aiming to enrich the lives of its citizens by recognizing and celebrating life at every stage.
