Busan City will hold the World Climate Industry Expo (WCE) for four days from May 24th to 27th, 2023, at the BEXCO Auditorium & Convention Hall.
Representatives from major foreign and domestic companies, officials from central and local governments, and international organizations with world-class carbon-neutral innovative technologies and policies will participate in the event. The 2023 Busan WCE could be an opportunity to inform the world why Busan should be the host city for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
WCE is co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, and the Ministry of Science and ICT, as well as related organizations and companies such as the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Trade Association.
The event will showcase the latest technologies and policies in the global climate environment and energy sector to respond to the climate crisis. International conferences, including keynote addresses from world luminaries, are also hosted, making it Korea’s gigantic single event.
In addition, the 2023 World Climate Industry Expo (WCE) will serve as a forum for global discussion of the climate crisis. This event will strengthen Busan’s position as a leader in the carbon-neutral implementation and contribute to hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Busan has bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo on the sub-themes of climate change, the downsides of digital transformation, and inequality among nations. Each sub-theme corresponds to one of the UN SDGs’ three pillars: people, planet, and prosperity.
The Carbon Neutral Hall, Renewable Energy Hall, Energy Efficiency Hall, Future Mobility Hall, Eco-friendly Hall, Climate Technology Hall, and Expo PR Hall will be part of the exhibition of the WCE.
